Business Continuity Plan
Business Continuity Plan (BCP)
Airtel Payments Bank Limited (APBL) has a Business Continuity Management System (BCMS) Policy to ensure continuity of critical services to customers and availability of critical systems during significant disruptions under defined disaster scenarios. The Policy is supported by department level and Product specific Business Continuity plans. In addition, APBL has also implemented the Crisis management plan, Communication plan, Pandemic plan, Security incident management plan and Site emergency response plan to support the ongoing Business Continuity initiatives.
In the event of a disaster, the Bank endeavours to resume business and operations to an acceptable level as per the Recovery Time Objectives (RTOs) detailed in the plans. The RTO provides guidance for prioritising activities/systems, whenever necessary. There can be various external factors beyond the Bank’s control, which could affect the actual RTOs. The Business Continuity plans are reviewed and maintained to incorporate changes in the organisation or environment and are subject to modification based on the reviews, situations, circumstances, etc. The efficacy of the Business Continuity plan is established through periodic business continuity testing.
The Bank also has a Disaster Recovery (DR) procedure and plan to ensure continuity of critical services to customers and availability of identified critical systems during significant disruptions. The DR plan for the identified critical applications are reviewed and maintained to incorporate changes in the application or environment and are subject to modification based on the reviews. The efficacy of the DR plan is established through periodic DR drills.
Disaster recovery (DR) drills are conducted to assess the Bank’s ability and readiness to combat disasters, to ensure continuity of critical business processes at an acceptable level and limit the impact of the disaster on people, processes and infrastructure. DR drill for critical applications is conducted every 6 months and for the remaining, it is conducted annually.
