How to find FASTag Customer ID using vehicle number

The concept of FASTag was introduced in India in the year 2014. They started off the same between Ahmedabad and Mumbai. Once the project showed potential, it was further launched in other states of the country. By 2016, over 347 toll plazas on National Highways were accepting FASTag. By 2021, the Indian Government made it mandatory for all four wheelers to have the FASTag attached to their vehicles for toll booth payments.

Currently, almost all toll booths in India operate with FASTag. What is FASTag customer ID?

A FASTag customer ID is a unique 13-digit number issued to the vehicle owners. It usually starts with 17 and looks like this – 17XXXXXXXXXXX.

The FASTag customer ID is sent to you with your FASTag welcome email and your FASTag sticker (you need to put the sticker on your car in a visible area for RFID to read the same and deduct the payment from your FASTag wallet). Your FASTag ID or your customer ID is important. It will help you log in to your FASTag account. Therefore, if you lose or forget your FAStag ID, you might face difficulties logging in to your account.

However, don’t worry. You can find your customer ID using your vehicle number or your mobile number. Let’s look at the steps involved.

How to find FASTag customer ID using vehicle number

Follow the below steps to retrieve your customer ID using your vehicle number:

  • Head to your FASTag issuer’s website. If you took your FASTag using Airtel Payments Bank, you should head to Airtel Payments Bank website.
  • Use your vehicle registration number to login to your account.
  • Once logged in, you will be able to see all the details for your FASTag account.
  • Look for your customer ID and make a note of it on your phone or else where you won’t lose it again.
  • In case, you are not able to login using your vehicle number only, go online and find the number for the customer care. The customer care number should belong to the issuer.
  • Call them up and tell the executive about your query related to the FASTag customer ID.
  • You will have to provide your vehicle number on call.
  • Once your vehicle number is verified, the customer care executive will give you the customer ID.

How to find FASTag customer ID using mobile number?

As mentioned above, every FASTag user receives a welcome kit on their registered email ID. The welcome mail contains the ID. If you have lost that mail and want to find your FASTag customer ID, you can do so with your mobile number.

The customer ID is usually sent on your mobile phone via SMS. You can find the customer ID there. If your FASTag was issued by Airtel Payments Bank, you can follow the below steps for finding your Airtel FASTag ID:

  • Head to the official website for Airtel Payments Bank.
  • Click on NETC FASTag icon.
  • Now enter your vehicle registration number.
  • Upload your Vehicle RC.
  • Hit on the Next button.
  • Here, you can see details of your FASTag Or you can call up the customer care number or connect with Airtel Payments Bank to find out your FASTag customer ID.
