Permanent Account Number or PAN is mandatory for most financial transactions. The primary objective of the PAN is to bring a universal identification to all financial transactions. It is also used to prevent tax evasion by keeping track of monetary transactions. The PAN code or 10-digit Pan number is an electronic system which records all tax-related information for a person/company. Therefore, the PAN card application is a significant process.
There are two types of forms available for PAN application. Different forms are available for Indian residents and NRIs.
The citizens of India need to fill Form 49A while applying for a PAN card. This form is meant for citizens, companies, entities staying and formed within India. Form 49AA is to be filled by individuals who are not the citizens of India. The form is filled by entities incorporated and unincorporated outside India.
