Who Can Use Airtel 5G?

If you are already using an Airtel 4G SIM, you don’t need to buy any other SIM to start using Airtel 5G as your existing 4G SIM is compatible with the Airtel 5G network. However, to use 5G service, you need to have a 5G-enabled device that supports Airtel 5G bands, whether it is a smartphone or tablet. As of now, we have five bands for the 5G network. They are: n8: 900 MHz, n3: 1800 MHz, n1: 2100 Mhz, n78: 3300 Mhz, and n258: 26 GHz

Check 5G Compatibility in Phone

1. You can check your smartphone or tablet box for any 5G text. If a 5G sign or band is available on the box or any kind of label, your phone is compatible with the Airtel 5G network.
2. Another way to check it is by searching the Settings app on your phone.

• Go to the Settings app
• Click on Mobile Networks/Mobile Data/SIM option
• Check for Preferred Network Type
• If any 5G option is available in the list, it means your phone is 5G enabled

3. You can also check 5G compatibility by using the Airtel Thanks App. Just download the app from Google Play Store or AppStore and create an account using your Airtel mobile number. Now, go to the home tab and click on ‘check if your phone is 5G enabled’.

How to Check Availability of Airtel 5G in Your Region

Once you are aware that your phone is 5G enabled, the next step is to check if 5G services are available in your area. As of now, our 5G plus services are available in 26 Indian states and Union territories covering more than 40 cities. However, we are planning for the coverage of our 5G plus services across all the major cities in India by December 2023. To check if your city comes under Airtel 5G Plus coverage network. How do I connect to 5G on a Smartphone?

Enable Airtel 5G on Android phones:

• Go to Settings
• Then, click on the Mobile Network/SIM
• Now, select the Airtel SIM for 5G activation
• Click on the ‘Preferred Network Type’ tab
• You will have options like 2G only, 3G, 4G LTE, 5G, and Auto
• Either select the Auto or 5G option
• You will have 5G activated on your phone within a few seconds

To check if 5G is working, search for the 5G symbol showing up on the status bar.

Enable Airtel 5G on iPhones:

• Go to Settings
• Click on the ‘Cellular’ tab
• Now, select ‘Cellular Data Options’
• Next, click on ‘Voice & Data’
• Here, you will have several network options to choose from such as 5G Auto etc.
