• Visit the PAN correction section on the website of Income Tax PAN Services Unit or click on this link- https://www.tin-nsdl.com/services/pan/correction.html
• Enter required details such as your PAN number, date of birth etc.
• Click on ‘Submit’
• A page with a token number will appear. Note the token number and click on ‘Continue with PAN application form’
• Under the ‘Personal Details’ section on the next page, select which mode you want to use for submitting the necessary documents. You can choose to submit them with e-sign and e-kyc, scan documents and submit with an e-sign, or post the documents physically
• Next, select whether you want a physical copy of your PAN card
• Enter your AADHAR number, EID number and other details as asked
• Once done, click on ‘Next’ and fill in your communication details such as address and e-mail ID
• Verify all information and click ‘Next’
• Here, you will need to upload your AADHAR card and add your declaration with your name, place and date
• Once you click on ‘Submit’, you will be taken to the payment page
• Depending on whether you asked for a physical PAN card or only a soft copy and where the card needs to be sent, this charge will vary
• Upon making the payment, you will receive an acknowledgement number which can be used to track your application.

How to apply for a duplicate PAN card offline?

The above steps explain how to apply for duplicate PAN card. One can also apply for a duplicate PAN card using their Aadhar card. To make a duplicate PAN card application using Aadhar card, follow the steps below.

• File an FIR at the police station; you’ll need to send a copy of this FIR along with your application.
• Visit https://www.onlineservices.nsdl.com/paam/ReprintEPan.html
• A form will appear; fill in the required data such as date of birth, Aadhar number and PAN
• Agree to the terms and conditions, enter the captcha and click on ‘Submit’
• You’ll be taken to a fresh webpage; enter your registered phone number and e-mail ID
• You’ll receive an OTP; enter the same
• Validate your request

In today’s age, everyone prefers to get duplicate PAN card using the online system since it’s hassle-free and less time consuming. However, should you want, you can also follow the offline procedure and get a duplicate PAN card.

• Download the ‘Request for new PAN card and/or changes and corrections in PAN data’ form from the TIN website
• Fill the form. Don’t forget to mention your PAN number in the same
• Click a passport size photograph of yours, cross-sign it and attach it with the filled form
• This filled form will need to be physically sent to the office of Protein eGov Technologies Limited Centre, accompanied by proofs of your identity and address
• Make the payment online and note your 15-digit reference number
• While sending the documents via parcel, write “Application for reprint of PAN-your 15-digit acknowledgement number” on the envelope
• Upon verification, if everything about your application is deemed fine by the Income Tax PAN Services Unit, then it will be processed, and you will receive your duplicate PAN card in 2 weeks.
